Find your place to stand
2020 has been an interesting year. There is so much happening in the world and there is serious anxiety, loss and change. It has been a lot to take in. With so many things being cancelled this year, we are expecting to gather as one, united group at WYCAMP. This year has been traumatic; it is time for us to have a rest, a play, pray together. Together we are the Wesleyan Methodist Church of New Zealand and we need each of you and your young people to be a part of what God is up to in our midst.
We need each other.
This year’s speaker Tash Ellis (Counselor and BA in Theology) is exploring what provides our sense of security so if/when things hit the fan or come out of left field, what is holding us up and supporting us? Building foundations that are reassuring, unshakable, feel safe/secure. So yes, make life great and do amazing things, but this is about having that quiet background reassurance that if your girlfriend dumps you, you don't get into the right Uni, or your parents break up, you get an injury that means you can’t play rugby anymore...you are sad, but still ok at a base level because you are standing firm in Christ.
